The story behind the pictures.

I am a math teacher, running coach, mentor and friend to some of the best kids in the world. I taught hard-working 8th graders Algebra at KIPP DC AIM Academy in DC for two years. Then, I taught math to playful fifth graders for one year at the same school before coming to Stanford.

Exploring new places is how I escape. Wandering the streets of places far afield or setting off on new adventures in my home city always brings fresh inspiration, needed away time, and new perspectives.

My favorite room in the house is my kitchen. Cooking is how I relax and unwind every night. Whether I'm chopping up fresh ingredients from the farmer's market for a slow-simmer stew or baking a crusty levain from scratch, I'm a happy girl.

I like to run. No, I love to run. Give me shoes, a trail, and some tunes and I'll see you in a few hours. I also love cycling, swimming, and generally anything where I can let the warm sun envelope me, take in the beauty of nature, and peacefully reflect.

I couldn't ask for a better family and family-to-be! They are one absolutely hilarious, incredibly talented, and unconditionally loving bunch. Oh, and that handsome man giving me a smooch? We're getting married March 15, 2015. Not sure how I snagged such a brilliant engineer with a heart of pure gold. He's the best!
